Target and Stop Price Calculator
Find the take-profit price that gives the return on margin (ROE) you want, and the stop-loss price for the most you are willing to lose, at your leverage and after fees.

How it is calculated
- Net return on margin: [direction × (exit − entry) − fee × (entry + exit)] ÷ (entry ÷ leverage), where direction is +1 for a long and −1 for a short
- Solving for the exit price: exit = entry × (direction + fee + return ÷ leverage) ÷ (direction − fee)
- Take-profit uses return = target ROE; stop-loss uses return = − maximum loss. ROE and loss are fractions (50% = 0.5), fee is per side.
- Liquidation check (isolated margin): long = entry × (1 − 1 ÷ leverage) ÷ (1 − MMR); short = entry × (1 + 1 ÷ leverage) ÷ (1 + MMR). The stop must be reached before this price.
Worked example
A 10× long from 100 aiming for +50% ROE and risking at most 20% of the margin.
| You enter | |
|---|---|
| Direction | Long |
| Entry price | 100 |
| Leverage | 10 × |
| Target ROE | 50 % |
| Maximum loss (of margin) | 20 % |
| Fee per side | 0 % |
| Maintenance margin rate | 0.5 % |
| You get | |
| Take-profit price | 105 |
| Stop-loss price | 98 |
| Price move to target | 5.0000% |
| Estimated liquidation price (isolated margin) | 90.45226 |
| Stop check | OK |
Take profit at 105 (a 5% move up) and place your stop at 98.
Questions
Why is a 50% ROE only a 5% price move?
ROE is measured on your margin, not the position value. At 10× leverage every 1% price move is about 10% of your margin.
