Exchange Spread Calculator
Check a price gap between two exchanges before you act: buy on exchange A, send the coins, sell on exchange B. Enter the prices you see, both taker fees and the withdrawal fee to see what is left and the gap you need just to break even.

How it is calculated
- Coins bought = amount × (1 − fee A) ÷ buy price on A
- Coins arriving = coins bought − withdrawal fee (in coins)
- Received on B = coins arriving × sell price on B × (1 − fee B)
- Net profit = received − amount; net return = profit ÷ amount × 100
- Break-even sell price = amount ÷ (coins arriving × (1 − fee B)); break-even gap = (break-even sell price ÷ buy price − 1) × 100
Worked example
Spend 1,000 at 100 on exchange A, sell at 101.5 on exchange B, 0.1% taker fee on each, 0.01 coin withdrawal fee.
| You enter | |
|---|---|
| Amount to spend on exchange A | 1,000 |
| Buy price on exchange A | 100 |
| Sell price on exchange B | 101.5 |
| Taker fee on exchange A | 0.1 % |
| Taker fee on exchange B | 0.1 % |
| Withdrawal / network fee (in coins) | 0.01 |
| You get | |
| Net profit or loss | 11.957 |
| Net return | 1.1957% |
| Break-even price gap | 0.3007% |
| Price gap you entered | 1.5000% |
| Coins bought on A | 9.99 |
| Coins arriving on B | 9.98 |
| Received on B after fees | 1,011.957 |
You buy 9.99 coins, 9.98 arrive after the withdrawal fee, and selling them brings 1,011.957: a profit of 11.957 (1.1957%). The price on B must be at least 0.3007% above the price on A just to break even, if prices do not move while the coins travel.
Questions
Why is the break-even gap bigger for a small amount?
The withdrawal fee is a fixed number of coins, not a percentage. On a small trade it eats a larger share, so the price gap must be wider to cover it.
Which fee should I use?
Use the taker fee if you buy and sell at the market price, which is usual when you need speed. Each exchange publishes its own fee schedule and withdrawal fee per network.

Prices move while coins are being transferred, withdrawals can be delayed or paused, and a large order can fill at a worse price than the one you see. Crypto prices move fast and leveraged trading can lose more than you expect. Check figures on your exchange or wallet before you act.
